The Expectant Mother's Program is designed to provide young women with the education they need to have a healthy baby, and to help them and their family decide whether to keep their child or not. The goal is to help each girl heal her emotional pain and get on with her life in a healthy manner. The expectant mother lives in an
organized, safe, supportive home environment where she can reshape her life.
Clearview will not attempt to influence the student in her decision on whether to keep the child or not; we simply educate and prepare her for the responsibility of parenting.
If the girl chooses to keep her baby, she will learn and experience the responsibilities of motherhood in the most realistic ways possible. At the same time, the program will help her learn how to make more constructive decisions in her personal life.
The expectant mother will be fully involved in Clearview's Emotional Fitness, Academic Fitness and Physical Fitness curriculum.
The expectant mothers often take the GED and attend a Junior College
or take
college correspondence courses. Part time work is an option for students that wish to be involved in the working world.
The expectant Mother's Program is designed to prepare young women in the appropriate ways to care for and nurture an infant. This program works on the following principals:
Education creates understanding
Experience solidifies understanding
Only through education and experience can an
intelligent choice be made.
This is how the Expectant Mother's Program works:
