Our Therapeutic Program Accreditations
At Clearview, girls receive an individual treatment plan aligned with their medical, emotional, and psychological needs. Our multi-disciplinary personnel is dedicated to helping each resident start on a new and more productive path in life. The clinical staff both on and off-campus is made up of psychiatric specialists, primary care physicians, a dentist, an orthodontist, & licensed psychotherapists, as well as teachers, mentors & residential care staff.
We Are an Accredited School
Girls who are having emotional and behavioral problems tend to be failing in school. Our school is intentionally computer-based and assisted by licensed teachers. The girls are able to catch up on their schoolwork. Some even get ahead of their coursework while they are at Clearview. We also provide tutoring, as needed, and regular academic progress reports to parents.
We Are Accredited by The Joint Commission
Clearview Girls Academy is accredited for its Behavioral Health programs by The Joint Commission. This means that we have met the requirements and the standards of quality, performance, and patient care set forth by this organization. Accreditation by The Joint Commission is another piece of information to use in selecting a therapeutic program.
The Joint Commission is a non-profit organization that has been accrediting therapeutic programs for more than 50 years. It sets standards by which healthcare organizations can be measured. Because of their expertise and high standards, The Joint Commission is a leader in the quality field. Their accreditation of a facility is a nationwide seal of approval that indicates that an organization meets high-performance standards.
How does a therapeutic facility become accredited by The Joint Commission?
Accreditation by The Joint Commission is voluntary. A healthcare facility must request that their organization be evaluated. The process for accreditation includes:
- Staff and patient interviews;
- Inspection of facility documents, the process of care;
- Assessment of patient safety, culture, and teamwork;
- Review of the physical facility; and,
- Observation of the daily operations of the therapists, including patient care.
We Are Accredited by CARF
We are also accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). We have a second, consecutive Three-Year Accreditation by CARF, the international accrediting body. It means that Clearview Girls Academy has demonstrated that it meets international standards for quality and is committed to pursuing excellence.
This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows our conformance to the CARF standards.
CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served.
Founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and now known as CARF, the accrediting body establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services.
We would welcome an opportunity to further acquaint you with our services and respond to your questions. We believe we are a valuable asset to the community we serve and are all the more valuable because of our CARF accreditation.
For Over 20 years, Clearview Girls Academy Has Been Helping Girls Overcome Life-Controlling Issues
Young women in our care attend individual, group, and family therapy sessions with our staff of skilled professional counselors. We also provide specialized help for students dealing with addiction and abandonment issues.
Art therapy gives girls another way to release their emotions. Animal and equine therapy is a part of our program featuring dogs and miniature horses. Through around the clock interactions with our trained staff, the girls receive constant feedback and assistance in their thinking and actions.
You will be pleasantly surprised that our rates are WELL BELOW other Therapeutic Boarding Schools around the nation, with top-quality therapy and residential and academic care:
At Clearview, Physical Fitness is taken very seriously.
During the school year, the girls may participate in a number of activities: aerobics, self-defense lessons, dance, river rafting, and rock climbing. Winter finds the girls snowboarding on Schweitzer Mountain and snowshoeing or sledding at the lodge.
Summer Activities for the girls may include horseback riding, biking, hiking, river rafting, rock climbing, fishing, camping, and playing sports.
Lake Pend Oreille is fully utilized and the girls may be seen boating and enjoying the beautiful lake.
All high school team sports are encouraged during the school year. A healthy and nutritionally balanced diet is provided and encouraged as an integral part of the girls’ physical fitness regimen.
While Attending Clearview Girls Academy, Your Girl Will Excel in Her Education
Education is very important at Clearview Girls Academy and is designed to meet the academic needs of our students while encouraging and supporting their emotional growth.
We have an integrated system where the teaching staff works closely with both the program staff and therapists to ensure that your daughter is getting the education they need while dealing with the various emotional issues in their lives.
Students create weekly academic goals reviewed by the academic staff. This is to ensure appropriate progress and to give the students a sense of accomplishment. Our low staff to student ratio enables more individualized instruction for your daughter.
Nationally Accredited Academics Allow Students to Work Toward Their High School Diploma
Clearview Girls Academy provides each student with the opportunity to complete middle school and high school level courses.
We are a fully accredited private school through COGNIA (formerly AdvancED), the leading accreditation institution in the United States.
Our academics can be tailored to fit the individual student from highly academic, advanced placement courses to the basic education curriculum. We work with many different curriculum providers to ensure that your daughter receives the best education possible. Each student will receive a high school graduation plan that maps out the courses required for a high school diploma.
If you do not think that your daughter will be graduating from Clearview Girls Academy, we will stay in communication with your daughter’s school to make sure that we are meeting the same requirements that will keep them on track at home. Clearview Girls Academy works closely with our local community school system and if deemed appropriate, your daughter may be able to attend school within the community.
Attending school in the community allows the opportunity to play sports and participate in other extra-curricular activities. It can also provide an opportunity to work on transitioning back into a more routine lifestyle. Attending school in the community allows the student academic assistance in a structured environment while having access to regular therapeutic support.
Our certified teachers work with the students to ensure they are progressing through the curriculum at a pace comparable to the public school system. Motivated students have the opportunity to earn credits at a quicker rate than at a public school. If your student is behind, we can set up a plan for credit recovery to get them back on track.
Available Post-Secondary Options After High School Graduation
Following their high school education, Clearview Girls Academy offers many post-secondary options for our students. With access to local colleges and distance learning, your daughter will have the opportunity to get a start on her college career.
We also offer wonderful access to vocational training. All of these programs are done with program, and therapeutic support.
Emotional Therapy is Built into Every Activity, Every Minute of the Day
Students participate in weekly individual therapy. Such individual therapy may occur in one sitting or occur over multiple short sessions during the week. Whole group therapy twice weekly is highly effective with adolescents, as well as specialty groups such as addiction and adoption. Family therapy occurs during family visits and on the phone.
Our staff has over 60 years of combined experience in therapy with adolescents. We specialize in Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, EMDR, Reality Therapy, and Trauma Therapy.
We utilize miniature horses to help the girls learn and build...
We also use Art Therapy to help the student learn to communicate thoughts and deep emotion without the use of words.
Families are encouraged to come and visit their daughter after an appropriate number of family therapy phone calls. When you do visit, one of our therapists will participate in family therapy with your girl. Each visit has a set of behavioral goals which the student works on during this time.
The Clearview Mentoring Program
Mentoring is a crucial part of the overall program at Clearview. Participation in it is completely voluntary by the student.
Mentoring includes daily life skills such as:
- House cleaning
- Real-life organizational skills
- Money management
- Future planning
- Time management
- Personal grooming
- Health and diet
- Physical fitness
In the Mentoring Program, the student will learn to balance work, school, dating, leisure time, and responsible participation in a household. In essence, mentoring teaches young women to make their lives less stressful through time management and prioritizing. The Clearview Mentoring program works.
We Provide Weekend Workshops for Parents
Several times each year the therapists of Clearview Girls Academy provide a weekend workshop for the parents of girls in our program. The first two days are focused on supporting the parents by providing tools for self-awareness, relationship building, and communication.
On Sunday, their daughters come to the workshop so that each family can practice the skills that have been presented. Everyone who has attended has stated that these workshops are a blessing. The overall goal is to serve the parents in building whole and healthy families.
