Family Therapy at Clearview Horizon Girls Academy isn’t just an add-on—it’s foundational to our therapeutic process. Parents actively participate in carefully structured sessions both virtually and during in-person Parent Workshop weekends. These workshops provide critical opportunities for parents to gain insights, develop practical parenting skills, and rebuild trust and communication with their daughters.
Each girl at Clearview receives a personalized treatment plan tailored specifically to her medical, emotional, and psychological needs. Our experienced therapists assess every student’s individual circumstances and integrate Family Therapy sessions to address attachment disorders, adoption-related issues, anxiety, depression, self-harm, eating disorders, and other emotional and behavioral challenges.
Family Therapy sessions at Clearview incorporate evidence-based therapeutic methods, including Trust-Based Relational Intervention, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Lifespan Integration, Reality Therapy, Neurofeedback, and Craniosacral Therapy. By actively involving parents, we ensure the skills and insights developed during therapy are reinforced at home.
Clearview Horizon Girls Academy provides specialized Parent Workshops designed to equip parents with effective strategies to support their daughter’s recovery journey. These workshops facilitate deep emotional connections, help families identify and reshape unproductive patterns, and strengthen parental relationships through shared experiences and guided interactions.
Clearview students participate in Individual Therapy in one sitting or over multiple short sessions during the week. Participation in Group Therapy twice weekly is highly effective with adolescent girls, including specialty groups such as adoption. Family therapy occurs during family visits and over the phone.
We encourage families to come and visit their daughters after an appropriate number of family therapy phone calls. When you visit Clearview Horizon’s Residential Treatment Center for girls, one of our therapists will participate in family therapy with your girl, giving her behavioral goals to work on during your visit.
Interactive Parent Workshops
We offer ways in which the whole family can recover, including Weekend Parent Workshops.
Several times a year, the therapists of Clearview provide a weekend workshop for the girls’ parents in our Residential Treatment Center for the girls program. The first two days focus on supporting the parents by providing tools for self-awareness, relationship-building, and communication.
On the last day of the parent workshop, we include their daughter in the workshop. We will work on the tools and techniques discussed in the previous two days. We also discuss how these tools can be implemented to help the entire family with its healing. These tools are also crucial when your daughter graduates from Clearview Horizon and reenters her regular life back home.
At its core, a weekend at a Parent Workshop encourages parents to begin their recovery from the stress of self-medication or mental health issues occurring in the family. It is also an opportunity to build a foundation that can support parents step by step on their family recovery journey.
Just as the child must get the recovery help they need to restore themselves, the family also needs some therapeutic help. Regarding the parents, a parent workshop at our Residential Treatment Center for girls is a great way to begin this restoration.
