Is Your Girl Misbehaving or Causing Self-Harm Due to Emotional Distress from an Adoption or Major Life Trauma?
If you have a teenage girl in your home displaying misbehavior or is making destructive choices, Clearview Horizon may be a good place to start as you research therapeutic boarding schools in Bridgeport, CT.
While not in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Clearview Horizon works with girls from your town in a beautiful facility in the mountains nearby the year-round resort town of Sandpoint, Idaho. We are intentionally located in a remote area because an important part of therapy is for the girl to be far away from influences, issues and similar surroundings so that she can put those out of her mind. It also discourages teens in our care from considering connecting with friends and leaving our campus.
In a few words, Clearview Horizon is a therapeutic boarding school for teenage girls with life-controlling issues or misbehavior that may be threatening to their future. Our counselors work best with teens who are acting out or making poor decisions due to emotional problems originating from: major trauma or loss in their life, physical or mental abuse, death of a loved one, or attachment disorders related to adoption. We also specialize in eating disorders and self-harm.

Bridgeport is the most populous city in the U.S. state of Connecticut. Located in Fairfield County, the city had an estimated population of 144,229 at the 2010 United States Census and is the core of the Greater Bridgeport area. The city is part of the Greater New York City Combined Statistical Area and the fifth largest city in New England (behind, in order: Boston, Worcester, Providence, and Springfield.) Bridgeport is also the center of the 41st largest urban area in the United States, just behind Austin, Texas (40th).
The city is marked by its attachment to its famous resident, the circus-promoter and once mayor P.T. Barnum. Barnum built three houses in the city, and housed his circus in town during winters.
Other than Black Rock and parts of Brooklawn which were originally part of the township of Fairfield, Bridgeport was originally a part of the township of Stratford. The first English settlement on the west bank of the mouth of the Pequonnock River was made somewhere between 1639 and 1665 and was called Pequonnock. This village was renamed Newfield sometime before 1777. More people settled further inland and to the West and the area officially became known as Stratfield in 1701, likely due to its location between the already existing towns of Stratford and Fairfield. During the American Revolution, Bridgeport was a center of privateering. In 1800, Newfield village was chartered as the borough of Bridgeport, and in 1821 the township of Bridgeport, including more of Stratfield, was incorporated. Finally, Bridgeport was chartered as a city in 1836.
The city was home to the Frisbie Pie Company, and therefore it has been argued that Bridgeport is the birthplace of the frisbee.
The city is also home to the first Subway Restaurant, opened in the North End section of the city in 1965.
