Your teen needs to feel supported while getting the help she needs. This can be difficult to do when trying to balance her education and therapy needs. How do you make sure she is getting the care she needs for her mental, emotional, spiritual, and behavioral concerns? Can you address those concerns while also ensuring she is still maintaining her education and getting the support she needs academically? We at Clearview understand this struggle and have created a program that addresses all of these needs.
Benefits of Programs Centered Around Education and Therapy
A program that allows your teen girl to receive the mental and behavioral help she needs while also continuing her academics can greatly enhance her overall success. The benefits of a program that offers both elements include:
- Continuing education: The availability of academic courses allows girls to get the care they need while also maintaining or improving their academic standing.
- Having behavioral concerns addressed: Behavioral health programs help girls get their emotional, mental, spiritual, and behavioral concerns addressed in a supportive and empathetic way.
- Learning to balance education and mental/emotional needs: Your daughter will learn self-care to ensure she is upholding her responsibilities. This includes the responsibility for her emotional, physical, and mental well-being.
- Having support systems for both: Students have supportive and empathetic mentors to turn to for both their mental and academic concerns.
Clearview’s Education and Therapy Program
We are a therapeutic center and boarding school for girls between the ages of 12 and 18 who are struggling to overcome emotional and behavioral concerns. Our program consists of daily therapy, life mentoring, academics, and a supportive, empathetic, and enriching environment in which your teen can grow and prosper. This mix of education and therapy has many aspects that provide benefits to our students.
Types of Therapeutic Interventions
We use a multitude of therapeutic techniques, including equine, family, and experiential therapy. Equine therapy involves the use of unique interactions with horses to help students heal and develop inner strength. This therapy involves not only riding, but also grooming, bonding, and caring for the horse. Equine therapy imparts responsibility, builds character, improves self-esteem, and gives the students a sense of freedom and independence.
A Focus on Family Involvement
Family involvement is vital in our program. This is accomplished through family therapy, which can occur in person on visitation days as well as over the phone. These sessions help the family members work through their concerns and rebuild their relationships. Through this family-centric approach, a student still feels connected to her family even though she is not with them. It then follows that family members also feel more connected to the family member in treatment.
Another way family involvement happens is through parental workshops. During the program, there is a parent workshop weekend. The workshops teach parents how to communicate with their daughter and to self-evaluate so they can better connect with their teen.
A Location That Lends Itself to New Experiences
Our location in Montana allows students to participate in different experiential indoor and outdoor activities. These activities include participating in hiking, cooking, rock climbing, camping, water activities, and horseback riding. Having these different experiences allows the students to find new hobbies, develop skills, build self-esteem, and become the positive and well-rounded young women they want to be.
Life Mentoring for Girls Needing Education and Therapy
Another aspect of our education and therapy program is life mentoring. Our mentoring program teaches students how to perform daily life tasks. The areas of instruction include cleaning, budgeting, cooking, having a healthy diet, exercising, balancing responsibilities, and so much more. Life mentoring helps the students become prepared for life outside of our facility. Mentors show girls how to take on all these responsibilities without being overcome with stress. Girls also gain another part of their support system that they can turn to when they are struggling.
Educational Offerings in the Therapeutic Environment
Our academic program is nationally accredited. Because of that, you can rest assured that your teen will get the best education. There are different approaches we take to ensure we meet the needs of each student. These include setting up a plan to get her where she needs to be if she has fallen behind or allowing her to take more credits if she feels up to it and wants to get ahead.
Because the age range for our program is 12-18 years old, we help our students through middle school and high school. We also offer post-high school education by working with local colleges. This allows your teen to still get the therapy and emotional support she needs while furthering her education.
The collaboration with the community also occurs during her high school years, where if she meets the criteria, she can attend community schools. This allows a student to create connections and participate in school sports and other extracurricular activities. Through this participation, she also has the opportunity to integrate with society and enact her life mentoring skills. All the while, she will still be able to maintain mental, behavioral, and academic support with Clearview Horizon Girls Academy. This ensures that she can stay on track to achieving her goals while attending community school.
Getting your teen girl the help she needs can seem daunting, especially when balancing her educational needs. Finding a program that allows your daughter to obtain treatment and still attend school can be vital to her success in recovery. This type of program will enable her to continue her education and learn to balance her education needs with her mental and emotional needs. A program that provides support for both education and mental health offers unique advantages. Clearview understands the necessity of this type of program. We ensure that our students’ mental and emotional needs are cared for daily while also ensuring they are academically achieving. For more information, contact us at 866-584-4788
