In the Bible, the Book of Mathew 4:23 extols, “And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.” That is what we aim to do here at Clearview Girls Academy. We want to help your family and daughter heal.
Here at Clearview Girls Academy, we believe in a three-tiered approach to recovery. We believe in emotional well-being by utilizing some of the various therapies and treatments we offer. We also believe in academic excellence, which is why we are a fully accredited middle school and high school. Lastly, we believe that spirituality is a cornerstone of recovery.
We feel that by creating a foundation of spirituality, we can help your daughter maintain a healthy lifestyle long after leaving treatment. This is true whether your child comes in as a spiritual person or, like many of our students upon arrival, they come in after pushing that spirituality away.
Utilizing Spirituality as a Foundation of Recovery
While we utilize our foundation built on the teachings of Jesus Christ here at Clearview Girls Academy, we do not feel it is our place to force it upon our students. Yes, we pray at every meal, have worship services, and offer various Christain events that we feel teenagers can relate to. However, we believe our students will accept their spirituality on their terms and on their own time.
We don’t believe that religion or faith can be forced upon anyone. What we believe in is a structure of “attraction” rather than enforcement. We feel that when our new students begin to see what Christ and spirituality have done for our other students, they will be more open to accepting faith into their lives.
Just like we do not hold a monopoly on anyone’s recovery, we do not hold a monopoly over their spirituality. If your daughter accepts the teachings of Jesus Christ into her heart, we feel that is fantastic. However, if your daughter finds her spirituality in some other form, we see that as a success as well.
Perhaps your daughter will find her spirituality through the nature she will be surrounded by here at the ranch. She may find it by connecting with something outside of herself. Perhaps this will happen with something like the equine therapy we offer. Your daughter may also be more open to Christ and spirituality once some of that emotional wreckage is cleared away by utilizing some of our therapies, like neurofeedback or art therapy. We want to “light her path,” not choose it for her.
Is Spirituality Different Than Christianity?
Is spirituality different than Christianity? Here at Clearview Girls Academy, we don’t think so. While we focus on the teachings of Christ, we also acknowledge there are many different spiritual paths one can take.
Here are three quotes from three different spiritual leaders:
- “Radiate boundless love toward the entire world.”
- “Richness is not having many belongings, but richness is the contentment of the soul.”
- “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.”
Now can you differentiate the message of peace that comes from all of these statements? We believe that all have a message of love, and that is the type of spirituality we care about here at Clearview Girls Academy.
As long as your daughter is eventually free and open to experiencing some faith and growth at Clearview Girls Academy, we feel we can facilitate their spirituality. We want your daughter to heal. At Clearview Girls Academy, we feel that some form of faith should be a part of that.
What an ” Individualized Plan” Means at Clearview Girls Academy
Here at Clearview Girls Academy, we believe in creating an “individualized plan” for each of our students. This includes focusing individually on wherever a student may be on their spiritual journey. If your daughter has pushed or been pushed away from spirituality, we understand. Many of our students come to us in that position. However, we have a way of giving them the type of guidance that will help them get back on that spiritual path.
Perhaps your daughter is coming in as a fully realized spiritual person, but something has begun to chip away at her faith. We feel that we can help her deal with what is going on emotionally so she can reengage with her faith. It is all about the individual student here at Clearview Girls Academy. That is how we feel we can best help our students.
Jesus says, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and the loss of his soul.” We want to help our students get their souls back. We want to light their paths to spiritual recovery.
Spirituality is a critical aspect of our recovery program here at Clearview Girls Academy. While we work from a foundation of the teachings of Jesus Christ, we do not force our belief structure on our students. However, we try to impart faith and spirituality’s importance throughout recovery here at the ranch. We feel that instilling a belief structure or faith practice can help our students excel, not only while at Clearview Girls Academy but also once they leave and head out into the real world. Let us help to build your daughter’s strong foundation for the future. For more information on our program, reach out to Clearview Girls Academy at (888) 796-5484.
